What the numbers mean

APR includes fees

The annual percentage rate combines the interest rate and required fees such as an origination fee, spread over the term. Compare offers by APR at the same term; it is the only figure that captures total cost.

Fixed means fixed

Your rate and monthly payment do not change during the loan. The only way the total changes is if you pay early (less interest) or pay late (fees).

State law comes first

Where a state caps rates, amounts or terms, lenders comply with the cap. That is why maximums differ by state. See loans by state.

Late payments

Missing a payment can add a lender fee and, after 30 days, a late mark on your credit report. Contact the lender before the due date if you need a date change; most offer one.

FAQ

Rates and terms: questions

Fixed rates, fees, early payoff and what True Finance charges.

Are these my rates?

No. They are the ranges lenders in our network publish. Your APR is set by the lender after reviewing your request and is shown before you sign.

Is the APR fixed?

Yes. Personal loans through True Finance have fixed APRs and fixed monthly payments for the full term.

What fees can a lender charge?

An origination fee (0–8% of the amount, included in the APR), late fees (typically $15–$30 or 5% of the payment) and returned-payment fees ($15–$25). No lender in our network charges a fee to apply or to receive funds.

Can I repay early?

Most network lenders allow early payoff with no prepayment penalty. It is stated in each agreement.

Does True Finance charge anything?

No. We are paid by lenders when a connection is made. You never pay us.

Why is my state's maximum different?

State law caps small-loan rates, amounts or terms. Lenders adjust to those caps. See loans by state.
